Marjah- US art of killing civilians.
It is a lie that we are winning the latest campaign south in Afghanistan.
Watching the news you get a rosy picture of win-win action by American troops, but reality is different.
The misbalance of the goals of Afghan fighters and American troops is obvious even to the people with room temperature IQ.
Afghans fight for their country, their tradition, their God and religion and they do not mind dying as “martyrs”.
They do it for centuries and succeed.
If you ask GI’s what do they fight for you might get an indoctrinated response – “for security of the USA”, but does Afghanistan really present a danger to the USA?
Pashto tribal people do not want to invade America, nor introduce Taliban system to us, and they have a long memory that will feed their hate to the invaders for next centuries.
They will remember civilians killed by blindly fired rockets, they will remember women and children shredded to pieces by Americans and parts of their bodies spread all over the rocky roads.
To win a war you have to win the hearts of the population you invade.
Roman Empire knew how to do it, we don’t.
Our propaganda made many different claims, giving strange and unreal reasons for invading Afghanistan.
At first it was because of a tall guy from Saudi Arabia called Bin Laden who allegedly master-minded 9/11, then we fought for schools for girls, then freedom for women, then democracy. There was also fighting the poppies crops sold to the Western users for big bucks, and now we just sent fifteen thousand young Americans just to continue the idiocy of war.
People are dying on both sides. Of course more Afghans die than Americans, but the only way US can win this war is by annihilation of the whole Afghan population.
Do we have a stomach for it?
But how does it work now in Marjah?
American troops expose themselves to the Taliban fighter drawing their fire and then call in for the long range rocket support.
Rockets come and hit anything in their way, killing some fighters but mostly civilians and destroy their homes.
The phosphorus projectiles explode and burn the living humans to the bone, impossible to extinguish. Geneva Convention prohibits a use of phosphorus munitions. It is considered a torture, not a weapon, but both US and Israel seem not to be versed in Geneva Convention.
